India’s long-awaited ICC trophy arrived under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy as the team clinched the 2024 T20 World Cup, defeating South Africa by seven runs in a thrilling final.

In an emotional moment, Rohit Sharma, along with star batter Virat Kohli, celebrated the victory that marked a significant milestone for Indian cricket.

Reflecting on the triumph, Rohit credited three key figures for their unwavering support throughout the tournament: BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar, and former Head Coach Rahul Dravid.

He referred to them as the “three pillars” who were instrumental in transforming the Indian team into a winning unit.

Rohit emphasized the importance of creating a positive environment where players could perform without the pressure of statistics or results.

Rohit also praised his teammates for their crucial contributions at various stages of the tournament. Looking ahead, India’s national cricket team captain outlined his ambitions for the upcoming Test series, which includes matches against Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Australia.

His focus remains on securing a spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) finals.
