QUETTA:
The Balochistan High Court (BHC) has directed the provincial education department to submit a comprehensive report on alleged unauthorised occupants using district education offices and educational institutions across the province in the name of unions and associations.
A two-member bench comprising BHC Chief Justice Justice Muhammad Kamran Khan Malakhail and Justice Najmuddin Mengal issued the directives while hearing a contempt petition filed by Imran Hussaini against the secretary education (schools), Balochistan, and others.
During the hearing, Balochistan Additional Advocate General Zahoor Ahmed Baloch informed the court that all unauthorised occupants from the Directorate of Education (Schools), Quetta, had been removed and that no such person was currently occupying the premises.
The petitioner’s counsel disputed the government’s position and requested the court to seek photographic evidence along with the official report.
The bench directed both sides to submit reports on the matter and instructed the Balochistan director schools education, under the supervision of the secretary education (schools), to compile a comprehensive report covering all district education offices and educational institutions across the province.
The court further ordered that if officials faced any unnecessary or unjustified resistance during implementation of its orders, they should seek assistance from the concerned deputy commissioner, who would be responsible for providing the necessary support for compliance.
A copy of the court order was also directed to be sent to the office of the additional advocate general for information and compliance.
The next hearing has been scheduled for Nov 3.
