QUETTA:
The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted a targeted operation in Pishin district of Balochistan, killing six terrorists and arresting five others, while three terrorists, including a Fitna al-Hindustan commander, were killed by security forces during another operation in Mastung district.
According to security sources, the DIG Zhob Range, CTD commander and SSP Pishin jointly led the operation in the Saranan area of Pishin, which also involved Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF) personnel, following a tip-off about the presence of terrorists there.
The CTD and ATF personnel surrounded the compound and asked the terrorists to surrender. This triggered a gunfight that lasted several hours. Six terrorists were killed and five others arrested, while a large quantity of arms and ammunition, including grenades, was seized. Four ATF personnel were also injured.
Separately, security forces killed three terrorists, including terrorist commander Naqeeb, when they targeted a vehicle carrying Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists with a quadcopter in Mastung district. “The precision strike killed three terrorists and the vehicle was completely destroyed,” a source said.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the security forces and CTD Balochistan for carrying out successful operations against Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists, praising their efforts and professional capabilities displayed during the operations.
The minister said the security forces had foiled the intentions of Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists and prevented them from achieving their objectives. He said the successful operation in Mastung reflected the determination and preparedness of the forces to deal with terrorist threats.
He said the operation in Pishin reflected the capability of CTD Balochistan. “All institutions in Balochistan remain committed to maintaining peace and stability in the province. Security and law enforcement agencies are continuing their efforts to counter threats and ensure public safety,” he said. (WITH INPUT FROM APP)
