Max Holloway bagged a double bonus on Saturday after a remarkable performance against Justin Gaethje during Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 300, becoming the biggest winner of extra cash.
Holloway, 32, was named the new BMF after he gave a stunning performance capping it with a remarkable last-minute knockout to Gaethje, earning himself the titles of “Fight of the Night” and “Performance of the Night”.
The double bonus for the fight that left Holloway’s fellow fighters stunned, earned him $600,000 handed out by UFC CEO Dana White in one-night-only performance bonus raise for UFC 300.
Gaethje also earned $300,000 for his losing effort.
According to TSN, Holloway has earned a total of $1,150,000 in “Performance of the Night” bonuses while Gaethje has taken home an extra $850,000 in performance bonuses.
The most iconic moment from the fight was when Holloway pointed to the middle of the octagon and slugged out the final seconds of his thrilling matchup with Gaethje at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
He managed to land a punch with one second remaining that spelled the end of the fight in highlight-reel fashion.
White called it one of the greatest moments in company history as Holloway completely flattened Gaethje.
Video clips of fighters’ reaction to Holloway putting Gaethje’s lights out have since gone viral on social media.
