CDF lauds Balochistan’s patriotism, vows to thwart Indian-sponsored proxies’ inimical designs

Stresses need to reject vested political agendas to ensure inclusive growth and long-term prosperity in the province

Chief of the Army Staff and Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir on Wednesday praised the resilience and patriotism of the people of Balochistan and vowed to thwart the inimical designs of Indian-sponsored proxies seeking to propagate violence and disrupt development in the province.

The army chief was interacting with participants of the 18th National Workshop on Balochistan at the General Headquarters (GHQ). The workshop focused on Balochistan’s socio-economic development and its strategic importance for Pakistan.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the CDF appreciated the steadfastness and national spirit of the people of Balochistan and underscored the province’s pivotal role in Pakistan’s prosperity and long-term development.

Field Marshal Munir lauded the wide-ranging initiatives being undertaken by the federal and provincial governments, emphasizing a people-centric approach aimed at improving socio-economic conditions and unlocking the province’s vast economic potential for the benefit of its residents.

The army chief also acknowledged the constructive role of civil society, particularly its efforts in countering propaganda and misinformation. He said civil society plays a crucial role in fostering national cohesion and promoting sustainable development, stressing the need to reject vested political agendas to ensure inclusive growth and long-term prosperity in Balochistan.

Highlighting the security challenges facing the province, Field Marshal Munir said Indian-sponsored proxies continue to spread violence and attempt to disrupt development in Balochistan. He reaffirmed that such “inimical designs will be thwarted” through firm and decisive action by the security forces to rid the province of terrorism and unrest.

Reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to peace and regional stability, he said any violation of the country’s sovereignty or territorial integrity, whether direct or indirect, would be met with a resolute response. He affirmed that the Pakistan Armed Forces remain fully committed to safeguarding the lives, well-being and aspirations of the people.

The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, during which the COAS & CDF responded to participants’ queries and shared insights into ongoing efforts aimed at ensuring Balochistan’s security, stability and development.
