Killed Khawarij were actively involved in attacks against security forces, killing of innocent civilians, says ISPR
An Army major embraced martyrdom while five terrorists belonging to Indian proxy Fitna al Khawarij were killed during an intelligence-based operation in the general area of Khar, Bajaur district, the military’s media wing said on Monday.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted on December 29, 2025, following reports of the presence of terrorists in the area. During the conduct of the operation, effective engagement by security forces resulted in five Indian-sponsored Khawarij being killed.
The ISPR said that during an intense exchange of fire, Major Adeel Zaman (36), a resident of Dera Ismail Khan district, who was leading his troops from the front, fought gallantly and rendered the ultimate sacrifice, embracing shahadat.

The statement added that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed Khawarij, who were actively involved in multiple terrorist activities against security forces and law enforcement agencies, as well as in the killing of innocent civilians.
“Sanitisation operations are being carried out to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored Khawarij present in the area,” the ISPR said.
It further stated that the relentless counterterrorism campaign under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam — approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan — will continue at full pace to eliminate the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
