AI-Fueled James Bond trailer reignites Henry Cavill casting buzz

A viral, AI-generated trailer depicting Henry Cavill as James Bond has reignited fan hopes for the actor taking on the iconic role.

The trailer, which also features Margot Robbie as his Bond girl, has amassed over 2.5 million views, fueling speculation about Cavill’s potential to succeed Daniel Craig following his “No Time to Die” exit.

Interestingly, Cavill’s upcoming role as Gus March-Phillipps in “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare” offers a real-world Bond connection.

March-Phillipps, the founder of a covert British Army unit, is believed to be a source of inspiration for Ian Fleming’s 007. Cavill even auditioned for Bond in “Casino Royale” but ultimately lost out to Craig.

While addressing recent Bond rumours on “The Rich Eisen Show”, Cavill remained coy: “I have no idea. All I have to go off of is the rumours. I have the same information you have. Maybe I’m too old now or maybe I’m not. We’ll see what the [producers’] plans are.”

“Casino Royale” director Martin Campbell told Express U.K. last year praised Cavill’s original Bond audition: “He looked great… His acting was tremendous. And look, if Daniel didn’t exist, Henry would have made an excellent Bond.” However, Campbell noted that Cavill’s youth at the time ultimately worked against him.

Addressing the possibility of Cavill’s return to the Bond conversation, Campbell raises the issue of age: “Henry’s 40, so by the time he’s done the third one he’s going to be 50 and anything beyond that’s two, three years per Bond. He’s in good shape Henry, he’s a good guy. He did very well in the audition, but ironically he was too young.”
