A famous debate in the football realm about who is the greatest player of all time (GOAT) — Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi — has been reinvigorated after former Manchester United player revealed his leaning.
Fans of both the star players have been involved in discussions about the GOAT, bringing forward facts, figures, and game skills on the field with meticulous comparisons.
But Giuseppe Rossi, a former footballer, has revealed what he thinks about these players also suggesting what Cristiano Ronaldo cares about.
Speaking with DAZN, Rossi stated about his former teammate: “Ronaldo went from a winger to being the best number nine on the planet, scoring goals is all he cares about.”
The 37-year-old former Italian striker, however, expressed his likeness toward Lionel Messi, saying: “Messi is a goal scorer but he facilitates and I appreciate that as a player who likes to come deep and get the ball… So that’s why I lean more towards watching Messi play.”
“It’s all about preference, it’s all about preference,” he added.
A former Italian football manager Fabio Capello also favoured the 36-year-old Messi over the 39-year-old Ronaldo declaring the former, more intelligent.
