A total of 16 terrorists were killed as security forces successfully repelled an intrusion attempt at Bannu Cantonment, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, by “khawarij [terrorist] elements” on March 4, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.

However, in the exchange of fire, five soldiers were also martyred while putting up a heroic resistance, the military’s media wing said.

This is a developing story and is being updated with more details.
