Rihanna, the 36-year-old music and fashion icon, is expanding her beauty empire beyond makeup and skincare with the launch of Fenty Hair. The new line of hair care products is designed to strengthen and repair all types of hair, catering to the diverse needs of individuals with varying textures and styles.
The announcement was made on June 4th via the official Fenty Hair Instagram page, with a promotional video captioned “A new family is moving in! @FentyHair is pulling up and it’s time to finally have the hair experience you’ve been waiting for.”
Rihanna explained that her inspiration for venturing into hair care stemmed from her own personal experiences with various hairstyles and textures throughout her career. “You know how much switching my hair up matters to me,” she shared. “I’ve had almost every texture, colour, length, from weaves to braids to natural – so I am launching a flexible line of products for not only every hair want, but every single product is designed to strengthen and repair all types of hair, which is what we truly need. It’s time to play and get strong with style.”
Fenty Hair is set to officially launch on June 13th, and based on the promotional video, fans can anticipate shampoos, conditioners, and styling products like gel and edge control. The video features Rihanna sporting a blonde pixie cut while showcasing individuals with diverse hair types in a vibrant neighbourhood setting.
This new venture adds to Rihanna’s already successful portfolio of brands, which includes Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin, and her lingerie line, Savage X Fenty. The launch of Fenty Beauty in 2017 revolutionised the beauty industry with its inclusive range of foundation shades, setting a new standard for diversity and representation.
