LAHORE: Days after being allegedly abducted from his home by unidentified people, YouTuber and digital content creator Aun Ali Khosa has returned to his home, his lawyer Mian Ali Ashfaq confirmed on Monday.
Ashfaq took to social media platform X to announce that Khosa’s family had confirmed his safe return and further said that he had held a detailed conversation with YouTube.
The digital content creator’s return comes after Lahore High Court’s Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi gave an August 20 deadline to Capital City Police Officer Bilal Saddique Kamyana the police to recover him.
The court’s orders came after a petition was filed by the content creator’s wife, Binish Iqbal, through lawyers Khadija Siddiqui and Ashfaq seeking her husband’s recovery.
The YouTuber’s alleged abduction also warranted a response from the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan which had called for his “immediate recovery”.
“HRCP is alarmed by reports that digital content creator @aun_khosa known for his satirical take on spiralling living costs, was abducted last night, allegedly by unknown armed men from his home in Lahore. We are concerned that this incident may be related to his work as a satirist. He must be recovered immediately,” the human rights watchdog said in a statement.
