King Charles III receives letters from children on World Earth Day amid cancer treatment

On World Earth Day, the royal family’s social media team shared touching letters from concerned young minds that were sent to  King Charles III.

While his treatment for cancer continues, these messages express deep worries about environmental threats, particularly climate change and global warming. One notable letter from a young individual stated, “I’m worried about climate change and global warming,” urging the King to act to secure their future.

The Palace captioned the shared letters with: “Each year, King Charles receives thousands of letters from young people passionate about environmental preservation. We’re eager to learn how you, along with your families, friends, and communities, are addressing the issue of plastic pollution. Please share your stories with us in the comments.”

Earlier in the day, the Palace released a significant video titled “Planet vs. Plastics,” marking King Charles’s long-standing advocacy against plastic pollution. The caption reminisced about the King’s first warning against the dangers of plastics to the environment in 1970, when he was just 21. Over the past five decades, His Majesty has dedicated his unique position to advocate for a sustainable future.

The royal family’s engagement with World Earth Day also celebrated the broader achievements of the environmental movement, reinforcing their commitment to these crucial global issues.
