A woman who had stalked “Don’t Worry Darling” actor Harry Styles has been jailed by a court in the UK and been banned from attending any of the British singer’s performances.
Myra Carvalho, aged 35, had stalked Harry Styles by sending him 8,000 cards within a month.
Following her guilty plea to a charge of stalking causing serious alarm or distress, Carvalho was sentenced to 14 weeks in prison, a court official at the Hendon Magistrates’ Court in London confirmed to Metro.
Additionally, a 10-year restraining order was imposed on Carvalho, prohibiting her from attending any event where the One Direction star performs.
She was also barred from entering a specific area in northwest London, as specified in court, and ordered to pay a £134 victim surcharge.
The stalking allegedly occurred after Harry Styles’ return from a romantic Caribbean vacation with his girlfriend, Taylor Russell, 29, when Carvalho targeted him in North London.
In a court session in February, prosecuting barrister Alejandra Llorente Tasco, as reported by The Mirror, stated, “She sent a total of 8,000 cards in one month. Some [were] hand-delivered and others were delivered via a third-party company online. This defendant has travelled all the way from Brazil and has frequently harassed Styles to an extremely intense degree by sending over 8,000 cards and describing sexual urges towards him.”
Styles, 30, reportedly felt deeply affected by Carvalho’s actions, which significantly disrupted his daily life.
