ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to include him in the high-power selection board for the promotion of senior bureaucrats from Grade 21 to 22, it was learned in Friday.
Bilawal said that he wanted to participate with the prime minister in the process of promotion of senior officers.
As a result, a board meeting, scheduled for Monday and Tuesday had been postponed until January.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will take the final decision whether or not to include Bilawal in the board. Previously, according to sources, it was proposed that the chief ministers be included in the Central Selection Board meeting for the promotion of officers in grade 20 and 21.
However, the prime minister had rejected the proposal and instead he included Senator Saleem Mandviwala in the board. Various political figures, including Naveed Qamar of the PPP had been included in the board in the past.
