Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi gave Kansas’ crowd at Arrowhead Stadium what it came for as he managed to net a long-range “golazo” goal leading to his team’s 3-2 victory over Sporting Kansas City (SKC) during the Major League Soccer (MLS) match.

According to Goal, the term “golazo” is Spanish term used by commentators during a televised football coverage to describe a spectacular goal.

They often use this term when they are suitably impressed by the nature of a goal.

In the 51st minute of the match on Saturday, the 36-year-old Argentine football legend scored a fierce left-footed goal to give Inter Miami a 2-1 lead following an SKC mistake.

The stadium erupted with loud cheers as soon as the football touched the net.

Along with assisting Diego Gomez score in the first half, Messi also contributed to his former Barcelona teammate Luis Suarez’s back-post finish, which clinched a 3-2 triumph.

All of this occurred in front of 72,610 fans, the fourth-largest crowd for a single game in MLS history, with American football star Patrick Mahomes also in attendance.

Inter Miami snapped their five-game losing streak across all competitions with Saturday’s match.
